VIVIANA GOLDING
Let's talk about languages

Viviana Golding-LOTE Project Officer Barwon South Western Region I was born and brought up in Italy; I arrived in Australia in 1982 to get married to an Australian that I had met in Germany. Since my arrival in this country I have resided in Geelong and on the Bellarine Peninsula. I completed a Master Degree in Modern Languages and Literatures at the University of Padua in northern Italy and a DipEd in LOTE and ESL at the Australian Catholic University, Melbourne. At present I am planning and researching for PhD in Applied Linguistics. I have been a teacher of LOTE, Italian and ESL for 26 years in Victoria, teaching at all levels from Preps to VCE and tertiary education. For the last six years I have been working as the Italian Network Leader in the BSW region and now as the LOTE Project Officer in the BSW Region. I have obtained permission from my regional Director to continue to teach VCE to a group of students who have been learning Italian with me from Preps through primary and now secondary school. Teaching and promoting languages and an internationalised curriculum is very important to me. I have written two text books for the teaching of Italian (Primary and Secondary), called Primo 1 and Primo2 published in 2009 by Nelson Cengage, Melbourne. In 2007 I was awarded the Best National Achievement in Australia for Leadership in Education, by Teaching Australia and the Australian Federal Government for my work in education in the Barwon South Western Region.
