PERFORMANCE POETRY
POETRY SLAM WORKSHOP

Michelle Dabrowski

Canadian Spoken word artist and facilitator
Michelle Dabrowski is the founder of the Montreal Throw Poetry Collective,
a group of performance poets who work with artists in all genres to create an interdisciplinary platform
that supports and empowers voices within the community.
Grounded in the word, performance is the means by which she aspires to build understanding and connections
with a diverse audience on an honest, vulnerable and human level.
On the stage, in print and in workshop settings Michelle invokes and questions the body
as a storehouse of memories, identity politics and the roles we play in everyday relationships.

In 2010 Michelle will release her first full length album Upward Praising Girlfriend
featuring collaborations with UK musician Fahad Khalid, folk-musician Jindalee Lehmann and Vancouver
poet Chris Masson.
In 2009, Michelle managed the development and production of the collective’s first
live spoken word album: 3...2...1... Throw!
