Marumi finished the Kochi Nishi High School in 1978, and went to attend the Oekos Schule in Zurich, Switzerland
to learn German from 1978-1979.
She arrived in Australia in 1980 on working holiday visa, eventually migrated to Australia in 1987.
Marumi went to the boarding school for Junior - Senior High School in Japan,
where the American missionary family lived also on the property.
Playing with their three children of the same age group, I picked up English quite well.
Later During the High School years, I had an opportunity to learn English for one year in England.
She started working as a remedial massage therapist at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne,
in 1987, finishing the certificate VI at the Victorian School of Massage.
Later levelled up to Diploma of Advanced Soft Tissue Therapy at the Australian School of
Therapeutic Massage in 2001. Still working at the Hyatt to this date,
but also worked in the Olympic Park/Albert Park Sports Medicine Centre
and Melbourne University Sports Centre for last 10 years.
Finished the Bachelor of Health Science (Natural Medicine) at the Victoria University of Technology in 2007.
Now works 4 days from the home clinic in Torquay.
