Katarina Steele, maiden name Bodnarova, was born in 1960 in the country then named Czechoslovakia.
There she studied education and received a doctorate in that field
at the University of P. J. Šafarik in Prešov.
For thirteen years Katarina worked as a teacher of children aged 6 to 15 years
in both Slovak- and Hungarian-language schools in Slovakia.
For 3 years she worked as an officer at the Esperanto House in Poprad (Slovakia),
and for 4 years she worked as a volunteer in the Netherlands at Universala Esperanto-Asocio
( World Esperanto Association) and the Internacia Esperanto-Instituto (International Esperanto Institute).
Katarina has taught Esperanto in shorter courses in Brazil (1996), India (2004), and New Zealand (2008).
Since 2004 she has been living in Australia
