A Song Cycle by Australian Composer Xavier Brouwer. Based on the life and poetry of Australia's first poet of note, Adam Lindsay Gordon. 1833-1870. Xavier said that It will be tonal and incorporate elements of musical theatre to make it fresh and dramatic. With Victorian tenor, Daniel Todd (pictured left) and accompanied by Daniel Carter who is with the Victorian Opera. Out on CD in approximately two months’ time. | The film 'Rider and Writer' is based on poet Adam Lindsay Gordon's life whilst in the South East of South Australia and Western Victoria from 1853.
He also served as a Member of Parliament during this time. Gordon's bust now sits in The Poets' Corner in Westminster Abbey, London. Directed by Brenton Manser with cinematography by Robert Tremelling in DVD and Bluray format. Starring Jakin Manser as Gordon (pictured right) with Mr. David Reed as John Riddoch, wealthy pastoralist and friend of Gordon. Proceeds from sales in early 2014 will aid future projects.
