Debbie Meaney is the surf coast's newest funeral celebrant.
She also does memorial services often held on an anniversary,
or for the scattering of ashes and living wakes, life stories and pet funerals.
She is available for talks to community groups.
She has a great appreciation for music and poetry, and can guide you with appropriate material.
Debbie was a Registered Nurse for a number of years. Her help with terminal patients,
grieving families and her experience in helping to organize funerals for immediate family
has steered her towards this very fulfilling role.
Debbie lives in Torquay and has three children.
Besides her family she loves adventurous activities, sailing, gym, walking the dog, volunteering in the community,
a good book, bottle of wine, great music and having a laugh with friends.

Funeral poetry session:
Poetry for all types of funerals will be read at this session. Is there room at a funeral for humorous poetry?
Please bring along any poetry of importance to you
(after emailing for session planning) to read yourself or for Debbie to read for you.
Tissues supplied.
Eulogy writing workshop:
Begin writing a eulogy for someone: someone with a terminal illness;
someone already deceased as a healing process for yourself or even write your own, a very interesting exercise.
Can a eulogy include humor? Please bring along some paper and a pen.
What key elements are there to writing a eulogy? Who should write it?
